Spruce Shave Club’s Guide to Winter Skincare
Winters are a great time.
If someone conducted a survey (and trust us, we have), you would find that many people consider winters to be the most wonderful time of the year.
Problem with the winter is that it’s often harder to take care of your skin. Especially for males.
So here's what you can do to take care of your skin during the winters
Moisturize
The easiest way to healthy skin in the winters is investing in a good moisturizer.
This should be obvious by now.
It doesn’t matter what your skin type is, moisturizing in the winter is a necessity simply because there isn't much in the air around you.
Pick up any basic moisturizer from your local department store and start rubbing it over that face
Knowing Your Skin
Finding out your skin type is slightly more complex.
It will take quite a bit of trial and error, but doing so is the biggest key in ensuring healthy skin in the long run.
If you have oily skin don’t want to be buying moisturizer that’s going to make your skin even more oily, do you?
Knowing your type of skin helps you choose the correct kind of moisturizer, which in turn helps you ensure that your skin receives what it needs.
Really start paying attention to your skin on days where you feel extra tired and stressed out.
Notice how you feel – sticky, oily, dry etc – and soon you will gain a greater understanding into the workings of your face and body.
Act accordingly and start investing in products that will bring the best out of your face.
Cracked Lips
It’s important to make sure that your lips aren’t dry and cracked.
Not only because it looks bad, but also because it is a genuine health issue. When your lips crack up, it’s easier for it to literally tear, which can be extremely painful.
The tendency for this to occur much more is in the winter, so invest in a decent lip balm.
It’s not going to cost you that much and your lips (and maybe someone else) will thank you later.
Drink tons of water. It’s important to stay hydrated – an often overlooked fact is just how important water is in keeping your skin hydrated.
It’s almost as if humans cannot survive without it…
There’s other, small things to keep in mind as well.
Don’t lick your lips, despite how it might feel. This is the easiest way to fall into a cycle of dry lips.
Your hands and fingers also tend to crack up a lot quicker than other parts of your body, so maybe keep a portable moisturizer on hand (no pun intended).
It’s easy, and won’t take too much time.
